Subject to contract award, Serco Defence is expanding operations, with future opportunities emerging to manage and maintain key military training facilities throughout Belgium.

We are currently researching solutions that are designed to improve operational readiness by delivering high-quality services across advanced training installations, focused on the following areas;

• Management & Operations: Overseeing execution, compliance, and service quality.
• Technical & Engineering: Maintaining and optimizing training equipment.
• Simulation & Training: Supporting personnel in using advanced technologies.
• IT & Logistics: Managing infrastructure, cybersecurity, planning, and support.

Main Responsibilities

• Software Development: Designing, developing, and maintaining software tools specific to the TERRA system. This involves writing, testing, and debugging code to create applications that facilitate data analysis, visualization, or modeling within the TERRA framework.
• Tool Customization and Adaptation: Adapting existing tools or creating new tools to meet the specific needs and requirements of TERRA system users. This could involve understanding user needs and tailoring tools to optimize data processing, analysis, or visualization.
• Integration with TERRA System: Ensuring the developed software tools integrate seamlessly with the TERRA system and other relevant software or databases, maintaining compatibility and efficiency.
• Collaboration and User Interaction: Working closely with researchers, scientists, or end-users of the TERRA system to understand their needs and challenges, and subsequently, providing technical support, training, and assistance in using the developed tools.
• Quality Assurance and Testing: Conducting thorough testing and quality assurance to ensure the reliability, accuracy, and performance of the software tools. This involves identifying and rectifying any bugs, glitches, or performance issues.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining detailed documentation of the software tools, including their functionality, design, and any updates or changes made. This documentation helps in user training and troubleshooting.
• Innovation and Improvement: Continuously seeking opportunities to improve existing tools or develop new tools by staying updated on the latest software development techniques and trends, keeping the tools in line with the latest industry standards.
• Data Security and Compliance: Ensuring that the software tools meet data security and compliance standards, especially if handling sensitive or regulated data.

Successful Candidate

• Experience in TerraTools, Geography degree or similar
• Experience in LIDAR, ArcGIS, Global Mapper, geospatial and source data creation
