Job Introduction
Since 1964, we’ve been a reliable partner of the Belgian Navy, with a team of 130 marine engineers and maritime specialists. From Zeebrugge, we provide daily maintenance, scheduled overhauls, and urgent repairs for the Belgian and Dutch naval fleets, especially minehunters.
Our technicians also work both nationally and internationally, adapting to naval operations worldwide.

We are looking for a Freelance Ship Manager to strengthen our team at our site in Zeebrugge.
Main Responsibilities
- Planning and coordination of designated maintenance (KO = Corrective, GO = Scheduled, IO = Urgent).
- Distribute work orders to the respective Workshop Managers (WSMs).
- Schedule personnel for project execution in consultation with Workshop Managers.
- Oversee maintenance planning steps:
- Test Before Maintenance (TBM)
- Project Execution Plan (PUP)
- Setting To Work + Harbour Acceptance Trials (STW/HAT)
- Review Seaworthiness Protocol Material Lists (MZWH)
- Follow Sea Acceptance Trial (SAT) tests
- Daily monitoring of onboard maintenance activities + coordination with Workshop Managers
- Create and follow up on work orders:
- Extra work orders (MR)
- Operational defect work orders (OD)
- Onboard assistance work orders (BA)
- Attend and follow up on weekly project meetings and toolbox meetings.
- Coordinate and supervise works executed in the UK.
- Control costs and track spare parts and subcontractors used per ship.
- Ensure communication between Zeebrugge and the UK Single Point of Contact (SPOC).
- Make sure reporting is done as required.
- Prepare invoices for the client.
Successful Candidate
- Bachelor’s degree level with a maritime background preferred.
- Language proficiency: Dutch – French – English.
- Computer skills: MS Office Suite – MS Project.
- Driving license B.
