Serco Defence: Enhancing Military Training in Belgium
As part of Serco Group PLC, we bring global expertise and innovation to Defence services and we are dedicated to ensuring Belgium’s military training remains cutting-edge and efficient..
Subject to contract award, Serco Defence is expanding operations, with future opportunities emerging to manage and maintain key military training facilities throughout Belgium.
We are currently researching solutions that are designed to improve operational readiness by delivering high-quality services across advanced training installations, focused on the following areas;
- Management & Operations: Overseeing execution, compliance, and service quality.
- Technical & Engineering: Maintaining and optimizing training equipment.
- Simulation & Training: Supporting personnel in using advanced technologies.
- IT & Logistics: Managing infrastructure, cybersecurity, planning, and support.

Main Responsibilities
- System Operation: Execute and monitor simulations according to predefined scenarios, ensuring all systems function correctly during sessions.
- Technical Support: Provide immediate troubleshooting and technical support for simulation hardware and software, resolving issues to minimize downtime during operations.
- Scenario Implementation: Set up and modify simulation scenarios as directed by training coordinators or project leads, adjusting variables and parameters to meet specific goals.
- User Assistance: Guide participants on how to interact with the simulation, providing instructions and support to enhance their experience and understanding.
- Maintenance: Perform routine checks and maintenance on simulation equipment to ensure ongoing operational integrity and report any malfunctions for repair.
- Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from participants and staff to assess simulation effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Data Management: Record and manage data generated from simulation sessions for analysis, reporting, or use in further training development.
- Collaboration: Work with a team of operators, facilitators, and technical staff to ensure a coordinated approach to simulation exercises.
- Training: Participate in ongoing training to remain proficient in new simulation technologies and methodologies.
- Inventory Management: Keep track of simulation assets, ensuring all equipment and software are accounted for and properly stored.
Successful Candidate
- Information assurance technical level 1 (IAT) A+
- NET+ or system security Certified Practitioner (CE)
- Previous experience operating simulators desirable
