Serco Defence: Enhancing Military Training in Belgium

Serco Defence is expanding operations in Belgium, managing and maintaining key military training facilities in Leopoldsburg, Marche-En-Famenne, and Stockem.

This contract will improve operational readiness by delivering high-quality services across advanced training installations, including:

• Desktop Tactical Trainer
• AFAB Sim
• DF Sim
• CST 
• Duel Sim

Expert Staffing Solutions

Serco will deploy professionals across multiple disciplines to ensure efficient operations:

• Management & Operations: Overseeing execution, compliance, and service quality.
• Technical & Engineering: Maintaining and optimizing training equipment.
• Simulation & Training: Supporting personnel in using advanced technologies.
• IT & Logistics: Managing infrastructure, cybersecurity, planning, and support.

Main Responsibilities

• Operations Management: Supervising day-to-day activities at the simulation site, ensuring all equipment and resources are functional and available for training or testing purposes. This includes overseeing the simulation sessions and managing the schedule to meet the needs of various user’s maintenance and Technical
• Oversight: Ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of the simulation equipment. This involves coordinating with technical teams for regular checks, troubleshooting technical issues, and organizing repairs or upgrades as necessary.
• Staff Management: Overseeing a team responsible for operating the simulators, including scheduling, training, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensuring that all operations within the simulation site comply with safety regulations and industry standards. This involves implementing safety protocols, emergency procedures, and regulatory compliance.
• Client and User Coordination: Acting as a point of contact for clients and users of the simulation site, managing their needs, addressing concerns, and ensuring a positive user experience.
• Resource Planning Management: Handling the planning and allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and software updates. This involves forecasting needs, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and optimizing resource utilization.
• Reporting and Documentation: Maintaining records of simulation activities, generating reports on usage, issues, and maintenance, and documenting any incidents or improvements for review and future planning.
• Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Identifying areas for improvement, suggesting upgrades or advancements in technology, and implementing best practices to enhance the simulation site's efficiency and capabilities.

Successful Candidate

• Degree in technical or scientific discipline (Or Equivalent)
• Five plus years industry experience, at least Two in a managerial or supervisory role
• Experience with complex systems development, architecture, software and system integration
• Understands DIS/HLA standards
• Proficient in MS-Office, Visio, Work Breakdown tools and software
